Italian Bishops Commit to Interfaith State Religion. Worse than Germany: On 25 June, the Italian Bishops' Conference signed an interfaith agreement titled "The Italian Way of Dialogue: Religions in the Public Sphere and for Social Cohesion" together with representatives of Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Baháʼí and other religious communities. After the signing, the signatories met President Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinale Palace to present him with a copy of the pact. He welcomed the initiative as a contribution to dialogue and social cohesion.

Cardinal Raymond Burke criticized at the consistory the pro-homosexual Final Report of the Synod’s Study Group No. 9. AdVaticanum.com reports (June 29) that he focused on its call to privilege the "experiences" of homosexuals. Furthermore, he dismissed the FSSPX's claim of a "state of emergency" to justify episcopal consecrations. Speaking with Per Mariam following the recent consistory, Cdl. Burke offered a summary of the event which drew just under 180 cardinals to Rome for the second such meeting of Leo XIV’s pontificate.
